Experience of autism

My interests being intense. I knew I was different from my peers and that they didn’t stim like I did.

I was diagnosed as early as I could have been as my Dad was diagnosed before I was born and my family have a long history of awesome autistic people. My parents knew I was autistic from 3 years old, just had to go through the waiting list.

It’s good to know what kind of Neurospicy you are! I have an advocate organisation and help businesses be more autism inclusive and speak at international conferences. I’m proud of my neurology and enjoy sharing my knowledge with others.

In lockdown I didn’t want to do geography homework, so my mum said why don’t you do something for autism acceptance month. I did  videos with Kieran Rose the autistic advocate and then was asked to speak at Starr conferene in America and it has all developed from there.

Top Tip

Understanding your personal autistic experience is everything. If you understand and can advocate for yourself, you’re most of the way there.
